The first t-shirt I ever designed. I wanted to pay tribute to the massive namdaemun gate that had burned down (and since then restored?) around that time just up the road from my apartment. I was going through my wardrobe to see what I don’t need anymore. I can’t bring myself to throw this away yet. Irene Dugdale Lee (RIP) was one of my biggest and most vocal supporter of my art and had asked me to design this. And for high school me it was a very validating moment. It’s become a memento.
